However, language experts are divided over which role Kiswahili should play in education. Mukoma Wa Ngugi and Dr. Kiswahili provides interesting issues on language policies and language planning. Parents would be anxious to know the merits of Kiswahili as the language of instruction in sciences and mathematics as well as whether there are sufficient core and supplementary textbooks in the language. Besides promoting African indigenous languages, South Africa also hopes that the introduction of Kiswahili will promoting cohesion and help to address xenophobia, which has resulted in over attacks sinceleading to more than deaths.

It remains in our minds and hearts. The development of Kiswahili language requires more government attention and intervention, for example, through the commissioning of texts in Kiswahili, the translation of important textbooks into Kiswahili, and the formation of serious and effective commissions for the development of terminology. No part of this dictionary may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise, without the prior permission of the Institute of Kiswahili Research. However, in Tanzania, where Kiswahili is both the national and official language, children born in the last three decades speak it as their first language Kiswahili belongs to the Bantu family of languages.

Introduction to spoken Kiswahili with particular emphasis on communicative skills for the health professional. It is my hope that the other competitors will not be discouraged, but will participate in future competitions; and that some of them will find consolation by having their works published as well. Hiki ni kitabu muhimu sana kwa wanafunzi na walimu wa Kiswahili. In short, the articles herein are a testimony of how Kiswahili has developed in the last fifty years in Kenya.
